About us

Laura Zimberg, LMT

Laura Zimberg, licensed massage therapist, grew up in Buffalo and has had a passion for helping people since she was just a child. That passion, along with some encouragement from her Grandmother, led her to a very storied career in medicineworking as a medical technologist, earning both her EMT and EMT-I certifications and spending 16 years in home health care. During this time, she earned 90 credits towards her Master in Science in Pennsylvania at Western Michigan University.

Suffice to say she learned a lot about helping people alleviate their stress, but she was still only figuring out what she wanted to do when she grew up.

The Wellness Center

The wellness center is a one stop shop for a number of different practitioners, from personal trainers to yoga instructors. She and her team at the GPSW wellness center location embrace the power of health. Zimberg believes that “Life’s too short, and if you can bring it all into one place…it saves time and helps [people] be healthier]”.

The Wellness center offers services such as massage therapy, Reiki, personal training, gym space and equipment, yoga, tai-chi, qigong, stretching, kickboxing, and meditation in motions.

Zimberg is currently one of only a few massage therapists working closely with the Buffalo Bills, and has done so since 2010. She and her team at GPSW are committed to providing their clients with a holistic and unique opportunity to improve their well-being in a professional and caring environment. They are determined to show that they are an essential element in maintaining a healthy mind and body that emanates from the inside out.

While working in home health care, she was recommended to get into massage therapy by a client who took notice of her natural talent for it. It was a match made in heaven and Zimberg has owned and operated Buffalo, NY’s Green Pastures Still Water, Massage Therapy and Spa ever since.

When developing her business plan for GPSW, Zimberg wanted to incorporate several different philosophies and modalities on wellness; but moreover, she wanted her services to be available to everyone. The solution was the GPSW Wellness Center.

Considerations
To ensure the ultimate experience for yourself and others, please turn off your cell phone or set it on vibrate; we also ask that all our guests please keep their voices down inside our facilities.

We suggest that you arrive 15 minutes early for all initial appointments. This allows time for any paperwork that needs to be filled out. If you are delayed, a phone call is appreciated and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Please keep in mind that a late arrival may affect the length of your treatment. If there is an appointment schedule immediately after your treatment, your treatment will end as scheduled and you will be financially responsible for the entirety of treatment time booked.

General Concerns

Please consult your doctor or healthcare professional should you have any concerns regarding health issues: diabetes, pregnancy, recent surgeries or any other physical ailments or medical conditions.

Pregnancy Concerns

Pampering the mom-to-be with a massage is such a great gift. The biggest question: are there times when massage during pregnancy should be avoided? Women with normal, low-risk pregnancies can benefit greatly from a massage. However, women in high-risk pregnancies should consult their doctor or midwife before beginning a massage therapy program.

When scheduling a pregnancy massage, please inform us that you are pregnant, so that we may prepare properly. You may want to avoid treatments using deep pressure and heat.

  • First Trimester: relieves headaches, helps alleviate morning sickness, reduces fatigue.
  • Second Trimester: alleviates backaches, relieves leg cramps.
  • Third Trimester: reduces swelling/edema, enhances sleep and calms an active baby.
